Matematiki model we metodologiýa

Atkinson & Wald (2007) intensity prediction equation, SRL 78(3) eq.(1) and table 1: MMI = c1 + c2(M-6) + c3(M-6)^2 + c4*log10(R) + c5*R + c6*B + c7*M*log10(R), R = sqrt(D^2 + h^2). Depth enters as D at the epicentre. Sigma 0.4 MMI units; the regression is well-constrained 10-500 km. Which of the paper's two coefficient sets applies is resolved from the epicentre against the tectonic regions shipped with USGS STREC, the reference implementation of Garcia, Wald & Hearne (2012) BSSA 102(1) that USGS Global ShakeMap uses to select a GMPE (US Government work, public domain). This is a rock-site estimate: it ignores local geology, which commonly moves observed intensity by a unit or more.

Computed in real time and available over the MCP tool get_fused_signal at /mcp, and enumerated in the fusion products guide. Available with free public access, within call and response limits. Readings depend on current source availability; source licences still apply.
